Meaning of ADEC Torque Limitation Code Values

Meaning of ADEC Torque Limitation Code Values

This may come in handy when troubleshooting low power and/or no code situations.

Regarding recording parameter 1.1075.065 “Torque Limitation Code” the values are as follows:

1              DBR (only limited by DBR curve, i.e. no active limitation)

2              Sensor Defect

4              Stop

8              Charge Air Pressure

16           Protection (e.g. derate due to oil temp / coolant temp / exh temp / charge air temp, etc)

32           Plant (can be limitation request via PAU)

512         Minimum common rail fuel pressure not reached

32768    Sensor Defect of critical sensors.

It is possible to have torque limitation without a code showing on parameter 2.8009.015, e.g.

For measuring points that have a torque limit, limitation of torque starts as soon as the Lim1 within ADEC is reached.  An alarm is not generated until

(i)                  the limited torque drops below a certain value and

(ii)                it has been below that value for a certain time

The value in (i) and the time in (ii) are ADEC parameters and the exact behaviour of the limitation can be worked out by looking at those parameters in DIASYS (usually 1-D parameters but as you would know some are 2-D limit curves).
