------------INSERT-----------
---------END INSERT--------------
Historical detail - pre May 2021...below.
If the customer/end user wants to request that the emissions certification on their Low Power Range (Mercedes/Daimler) engine is downgraded, they must FIRST go to the company they bought the machine (e.g. the crane, road profiler, combine harvester) from and ask them to find out if the manufacturer of the machine ("the OEM") has a legal "Frame Agreement" with MTU to allow this. If they do, then the OEM will be able to provide a price for the customer to downgrade the emissions, and the customer can order this. Once this has happened, a dataset will be produced by MTU and the OEM will be notified that the dataset is ready. The customer will then receive notification and at that point (NOT BEFORE), they can engage PPS to attend and reprogramme the engine with XD4IMO (XEntry).PPS branches should quote accordingly for labour - the reprogramming task itself takes about 90 minutes. Travel will vary but should be charged. Refer to the attached instructions for how to reprogramme the engine.NOTE:- mobile phone coverage with data (4G), the ability to email pictures and the ability to dial internationally will be required, as it is necessary to talk to German engineers to complete the process. For this reason the task is better done late in the afternoon.
