X52725500009 - isolated flexplate not recommended or necessary to use Grounding device

MTU indicate Grounding brush devices is not required when isolated flexplate / coupling X52725500009 is in use.
Some customer may request to still run the grounding device brushes as optional extra when X52725500009 Geislinger isolated coupling is in use and if so MUST use the suitable GD kit made available specifically for this isolated Flywheel version - Refer TSD 12-06 for all details... 

Details:-

The Flywheel coupling / flexplate assembly of X52725500009 is an “Isolated coupling / flexplate” and within MTU installation drawing for this coupling (XZ52725000031) it states below.

Also a review of the differences between this coupling X52725500009 versus the original version of 5242500401 or 52725500008 highlighted the running surfaces of these couplings are different as per below snips with the isolated version actually having a slightly smaller diameter (brush would have to extend further and less usable life) and also a step on this surface (could pose a risk to crank end float if interferes with brush).  


Penske have however released a suitable GD kit to suit if X52725500009 is in use and customer wishes for the added protection - refer TSD 12-06.
