DM3500 Oil pressure sender unstable.
PPS are no longer a distributor for the Kohler Marine and Industrial products within Australia and for any Kohler product technical support we can refer customers or our technicians directly to Ty Martin of Clarke Energy: TyMartin| Service/Technical Support – Kohler Clarke EnergyTy.Martin@clarke-energy.com t: +61882902100 m: +61437101729 www.clarke-energy.com With an instruction from Kohler, JoJo from penskePS QLD, visited the vesel and installed an earthcable from the sender to the starter motor negitive terminal, this settled the oil pressure reading fluctuations. We are still waiting for a technical bulletin from Kohler re the modification below. Details of the modification from Kohler. I wouldlike a couple things.-First inspect the oil pressure sender and look at the numbers on the hex head. What is your date on the sender? For examplethis sender was built in 2016 on the 5th month of MayI havefound that units 17/42 and newer appear to be stable!! from Mark Johns.-Another thing I would do it ensure the grounding of the sensor is satisfactoryby making a temporary redundant ground. Do this grounding the oilpressure sender body to a good known good ground. In the past I have donethis by taking a hose clamp around the sensor body, the wire is held to thesender using the clamp, then the other end goes to a good ground. Doesthe pressure change?-Also I would try to change the sensor part number to GM96251 in SiteTech, doesthis change the values?
