Drawing Revision Triangle


After each revision change on a Penske Off-Highway Engineering drawing, a description of the changes required are to be recorded in the revision table. A Design Change Request (DCR) may be required if the change is major. To make the changes easier to locate, it may be required to place a triangle symbol with the revision letter next to the change. This will assist anyone viewing the drawing to quickly locate where the changes have occurred on the drawing.

Solidworks has a function in the Revision table which will allow for this. Click the revision table and ‘B’ tab at the top left corner of the table.



In the Border tab, change the top option to ‘Triangle’ and click ok.




Place the triangle next to where the changes occurred and click the tick. Do not modify the astrick inside the triangle as this will change to the lastest revsion letter once the drawing goes through the approval process.




If previous revision triangles have been used, these should be removed. Only the latest revision triangle should be showing on the drawing.
